Grand Paris:
Real estate
experiments
In recent years, Paris and the wider region has become a laboratory for urban and real estate innovation with the creation of several original developments.
These aim to address to social challenges created by an ever expanding city, the economic challenges coming from strong competition from other global cities and the environmental challenges posed by climate change and urban pollution.
Many of the new projects within Grand Paris have certain trends in common. New building uses are on the rise as mixed-use developments and human centric design come to the fore. Projects are also increasingly looking to incorporate nature and vegetation within the built environment with urban agriculture, green roofs and facades as well as community gardens.
These developments not only have big implications for urban life within Paris but also the image it presents to the outside world – most notably companies looking for European office space, top talent and real estate investors.
